Allocation of New Handicaps at Whetstone Golf Club In accordance with the new CONGU rules for 2016, members who do not currently hold a Handicap may score 3 cards for submission to obtain one. The cards will be assessed following the new algorithm and if the considered appropriate handicap is 28 (or 36 for ladies) or less a handicap will be issued in the normal way. If however the assessment is that a handicap of more than 28 (36) is appropriate, then a "club handicap" of up to 54 will be issued. In doing so these handicaps will be considers as "non competitive" as regards CONGU competitions. Members with non competitive handicaps may enter club competitions in order to progress their handicap but will not be allowed to claim prizes. Entry fee for such members will not be taken. If a member with a club handicap would prefer to be issued with a competitive handicap of 28 (36), they should contact the Handicap Secretary. Note. Once a member has a competitive handicap of 28 (36) or less, his or her handicap cannot subsequently be increased above 28 (36).
